We held our Opening Day ceremonies for rec league baseball, softball, and t-ball this morning. We honored fallen Lafayette Police Department Sr. Cpl. Segus Jolivette, who was killed in the line of duty, by having one of his children throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The sports complex was packed with hundreds of players, families, coaches, and volunteers. We would like to thank Mayor Ray Bourque, Broussard City Council member Jesse Regan, Broussard Police Department Chief Vance Olivier and Assistant Chief Tony Ashy, Broussard Fire Department Honor Guard and Chief Bryan Champagne, The Jolivette Family, National Anthem singer Joshua Wright, and Pastor Gabe Smith of Our Savior's Church - Broussard for attending. ...
